The Cody Blackbird Band Nominated for 2 Native American Music Awards

Kissing The Fire by The Cody Blackbird Band has been nominated for 2 Native American Music Awards; Best Blues Recording and Best Rock Recording.

Cody Blackbird is of Eastern Band Cherokee, and Roma descent. Featured on NBC, PBS, WGN, MSNBC, CNN and The NY Times, Cody has performed over 1500 shows both nationally and internationally. Cody has been recognized as one of the top Native American Flutist’s touring today, reaching over 120 communities annually.

The Cody Blackbird Band consisting of Cody Blackbird (lead vocals & NA Flute), Caleb Blackbird (backing vocals, percussion, mod drum kit, NA Flute), Will Benjamin & Adrian D Thomas (backing vocals, guitar, bass) have been named the top Native American Band of 2016 and NAMA (Native American Music Awards) “Group of the Year” in 2017.

Their upcoming album "Time" is being produced by Kenny Lee Lewis of The Steve Miller Band
